I am an indexer of scholarly texts located in Madison, New JerseyI have been a full-time indexer for 18 years. Although indexing is an anonymous endeavor for the most part, I enjoy seeing published indexes that I have prepared. I like to think that I contribute to a quality reading experience.

My indexing background includes working with a team to create the Harper's Magazine index, which can be viewed online at the Harper's web site. I have indexed extensively for university presses, including Rutgers University Press, University of California Press and University of Washington Press. A selected list of recent indexes can be viewed on this web site.

When authors are faced with the responsibility of an index at the end of a long creative journey of writing, rewriting, and proofreading, they often are lacking in time and energy to start yet one more phase of the publishing process. When such is the case, I offer my services as a professional indexer to read the author's text from a fresh perspective and to prepare an index that meets the expectations of the author and the needs of future readers.
